•We invest in things we understand. We generate the majority of our income by making loans to customers that engage in activities wherein we possess the requisite level of expertise to appropriately underwrite the specific request. We don’t invest in high risk, out-of-territory transactions or exotic securities. These are the types of transactions that caused a significant amount of the problems that the larger financial institutions are having.

We truly believe that if we are fair to our customers, they will be loyal to us. This premise has been a staple of our organization since its inception in 1971.
•We continue to be active in the pursuit of opportunities to assist our customers. While many banks have adopted a “bunker mentality” given the current state of the economy, ABT views this as a time when our communities and customers need us the most.
