First Financial Bank was originally known as Security State Bank and was first located in the lobby of the Damron Hotel at 155 West Hubbard. Mr. P. S. Wolf was the bank president when the bank was established in 1921, to serve the citizens of the community.

As the bank grew, it relocated to the northeast corner of Oak and Hubbard in 1923 and in 1925 a name change occurred. Security State Bank became known as City National Bank.

First Financial Bank opened its doors at its current location in 1969 at 1900 East Hubbard, where it operates today. In 2001, the Bank was sold to First Financial Bankshares, Inc. in Abilene, Texas and Kenneth Williamson became President, CEO and Chairman of the Board.

First Financial Bankshares, Inc. is a family of community banks stretching from the Dallas/Fort Worth area to Hereford, with our corporate headquarters located in Abilene, Texas. There is a proud tradition of serving our local communities that dates back to 1889.

In 2007, First Financial Bank changed it's name from City National Bank to it's present name.
